Frequently asked questions
Is SafeMigo an emergency service?
Why does SafeMigo ask for location "all the time"?
Will it drain my battery?
SafeMigo is designed to be light on battery day to day. It uses more while something is active, like a check-in timer, a Safe Trip, live location sharing or an SOS.
Who can see where I am?
Only people you add, and only in the ways you allow. Arrive and leave alerts go to the people you pick. The approximate circle map is per circle and off until you turn it on. During an SOS or emergency, your chosen contacts receive your live location.
What's a circle?
A small group who look out for each other: family, friends, roommates, caregivers, a trip group, or a custom group you name yourself. In each circle you choose who gets your alerts. The same person can be in more than one of your circles; they still only get each alert once.
I'm not getting alerts. What should I check?
- Notifications are allowed for SafeMigo in your phone’s settings.
- On Android, battery optimization is off for SafeMigo (Settings → Apps → SafeMigo → Battery → Unrestricted).
- Location is set to “All the time” (Android) or “Always” (iPhone).
- The person sending alerts has you as an accepted contact or in a circle.
- Use Settings → Verify my safety alerts in the app to send a test to each contact.
Does SafeMigo work in Do Not Disturb?
Emergency, timer and zone alerts are sent on high-priority channels designed to break through Do Not Disturb on Android. On iPhone, how alerts behave in Focus modes depends on your Focus settings.
What does Pro cost?
How do I delete my account?
Can I use SafeMigo for my child?
SafeMigo accounts are for people 13 and older. A parent or guardian should set up and supervise any teen's use.
