Safety Disclaimer

Last updated: October 18, 2026

SafeMigo is designed to help, and we work hard to make alerts reliable. But no app can guarantee anyone's safety. Please read this before you rely on SafeMigo.

In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first. SafeMigo does not contact police, fire, ambulance or any emergency dispatcher, and it is not monitored by a response center.

Alerts go to people, not responders

SafeMigo alerts the emergency contacts and circle members you choose. They are ordinary people. They may not see an alert in time, may be unable to reach you, and are not trained responders. Agree with them ahead of time what they should do if they get an alert from you, including calling 911 for you.

Things that can stop or delay an alert

Detection features are not perfect

Shake, crash and fall detection, inactivity checks and zone arrive/leave alerts use phone sensors and location. They can miss real events and can trigger when nothing is wrong. A countdown usually gives you a chance to cancel a false alarm; if you can’t respond, an alert may be sent.

Area Safety Grades are general information

Area Safety Grades summarize third-party and public data. That data may be incomplete, delayed or wrong for a specific street or moment. A good grade does not mean a place is safe, and a poor grade does not mean it is dangerous. Use your own judgment.
